Allrounder Shardul Thakur showed his brilliant skills with the bat once again and bailed Mumbai out of huge trouble during their Ranji Trophy game against Jammu & Kashmir at BKC. Thakur's knock came at a time when his side was in huge trouble.
Thakur came in to bat when Mumbai were in huge trouble at 91-6 at the fall of Ajinkya Rahane's wicket. With, just five runs ahead at that point, he had a huge task ahead of him. But he was unfazed despite huge pressure and put the opposition bowlers under the pump.
He was aggressive against both the spinners and the fast bowlers which put the Jammu & Kashmir bowlers on the back foot. He completed a whirlwind century off just 105 balls. The social media was abuzz after Thakur's brilliance with the bat and hailed him as a man for tough situations.

A knock to remember from Shardul Thakur
It was a knock to remember from the allrounder who showed his gritty attitude to dig Mumbai out of a hole. Shardul Thakur suffered cramps on several occasions during his knock but continued to fight.
With the other star batters of Mumbai like Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube struggling in this match, Thakur gave a glimpse of his own talent and showed how it needs to be played on such a pitch.
He formed a great partnership with the offspinner Tanish Kotian, who gave him good company with a brilliant fifty. Both have stitched together a partnership of more than 150 runs and have taken Mumbai's lead towards the 200-run mark.

Shardul Thakur last played a Test match during India's tour of South Africa in November 2023. Since then, he has been out of the team due to form and fitness issues. The allrounder didn't even find a team in the IPL 2025 auction which came as a huge shock.
