SACRAMENTO – Detectives are concerned there could be more alleged victims of a Sacramento County man arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor.
Tuesday morning, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office announced that they had arrested 28-year-old Edwin Valdez after an investigation by the department's Sexual and Elder Abuse Bureau.
According to detectives, Valdez allegedly sexually assaulted a girl multiple times when she was a minor.
With Valdez being staff and an active member of a local church, detectives noted their concern that other unreported alleged victims. The name of the church Valdez worked at has not been released by authorities.
Valdez was booked into Sacramento County Jail and is being held on $500,000 bail.
Anyone with information on other possible victims is urged to call the sheriff's office.
