ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester area honored the service of local veterans on Monday for Veterans Day, a federal holiday with roots tracing back to the end of World War I. In Monroe County, there are over 31,000 veterans which make up 4% of the population, according to the most recent Census. The community honored veterans through ceremonies, a 5K race, a breakfast, and more.
