Copa America 2024: Argentina 1-0 Chile

The Copa America is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in South America, showcasing the best talent from across the continent. In the 2024 edition of the tournament, Argentina faced off against Chile in a highly anticipated match that ended with a narrow 1-0 victory for Argentina.

Meanwhile, Chile is still looking for their first goal of Copa America after a 0-0 draw against Peru on June 21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It was Lautaro Martinez who got the goal in the end after Lionel Messi's corner kick was only partially cleared. The ball bounced out the back side of the scrum and fell right to the Inter Milan forward, who also scored as a substitute in Argentina's opening victory over Canada.

Three years prior, Argentina clinched third place at the 2019 Copa America Tournament with another 2-1 victory over Chile in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

This is the first time these two nations will meet on U.S. soil since a 0-0 draw in an international friendly at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sept. 5, 2019.

This victory will undoubtedly boost Argentina's morale and confidence as they continue their campaign in the Copa America. It also highlights the strength and competitiveness of South American football, where even a single goal can make all the difference in determining the outcome of a match.
