Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Collier Stanton, a 2026 Junior Nationals finalist, is sticking close to home for his collegiate career, as the Georgia native has announced his verbal commitment to swim for Georgia Institute of Technology beginning in the fall of 2027.

“l am very proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Georgia Tech! First, I would like to thank my friends and family for staying with me throughout this entire process. I would also like to thank Coach Lucas, my Gwinnett Aquatics family, and my Brookwood coaches who helped me to where I am today. Thank you to Coach lago, Coach Miles, and Coach Mel for giving me this opportunity. I’m so excited to carry on the legacy! Go Jackets!”

A senior at Brookwood High School in Snellville, GA, Stanton has been a member of his school’s varsity swimming and diving team since his freshman year. He currently swims year-round with Gwinnett Aquatics, where he primarily specializes in distance free and IM.

Stanton most recently competed at the 2026 Junior National Championships (LCM) in Irvine, where he turned in a series of top performances and earned a second swim in two events. He placed 23rd in the 400 free (4:02.60) after setting a personal best time of 3:59.98 during prelims, and he placed 28th in the 400 IM (4:30.32 – PB). He also finished 41st in the 800 free (8:28.75 – SB) and 46th in the 1500 free (16:25.80 – SB).

At the 2025 Winter Junior Championships – East in December, Stanton delivered a strong showing, logging a personal best time in one event. He contested the 200 free (1:41.42), 500 free (4:31.20), 1000 free (9:18.27 – PB), 1650 free (15:46.05) and 400 IM (4:02.77).

Stanton posted another series of fast swims at the 2026 Southeastern Meet of Champions in March. He snagged the runner-up spot in the 400 IM (3:54.67 – PB) and 1000 free (9:18.38) and took 4th in the 200 IM (1:53.09 – PB) and 1650 free (15:59.33). He also placed 9th in the 500 free (4:32.87).

Stanton clocked a stream of lifetime best performances at the 2026 Northeast Divisional Championships a few weeks later. He won the 500 free (4:26.12), 1650 free (15:33.52) and 200 IM (1:49.45), and he took 3rd in the 200 fly (1:53.29) and 5th in the 100 breast (57.96), setting a personal best time in each event.

    Best Times SCY:

    200 free – 1:39.79 500 free – 4:26.12 1000 free – 9:18.27 1650 free – 15:33.52 200 IM – 1:49.45 400 IM – 3:54.67

A Division I program, Georgia Tech competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference; the men’s team placed 12th at last season’s conference championships before sending one athlete, Max Fowler, to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship, where he finished 34th overall. To earn a second swim at the 2026 ACCs, it took times of 1:34.69/4:20.07 in the 200/500 free and 1:44.99/3:48.98 in the 200/400 IM, putting Stanton outside the cutoff in each of his top events.

On the team itself, Stanton would have ranked 2nd in the 200 IM, 3rd in the 1650 free, 4th in the 1000 free and 5th in the 500 free and 400 IM, putting him in a position to be a strong contributor and bring added depth across the distance free and IM disciplines.

Currently set to join Stanton in Atlanta next fall are Daniel Mitka, Liam Drake and Charley Sutorus, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
