Euro 2024 : Romania 3-0 Ukraine

The Euro 2024 final match between Romania and Ukraine ended in a decisive 3-0 victory for Romania. This win was a testament to the skill and determination of the Romanian team, who displayed exceptional teamwork and strategy throughout the game.

From the very beginning, Romania dominated possession and created numerous scoring opportunities. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they consistently pressured the Ukrainian defense and capitalized on their chances. The first goal came early in the first half, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Romania picked up their first win at a major tournament for 24 years as they produced a superb display to beat Ukraine 3-0 in Munich. The pre-tournament verdict on Romania had been to expect cagey encounters, with only five goals conceded in qualifying but problems when it came to finding the back of the net themselves.

Edward Iordanescu’s men were set up compactly to defend and break on the counter-attack with most of their joy in the first half coming through the outlet of Denis Dragus. Constant pressing on Ukraine’s Andriy Lunin forced the error as the goalkeeper gave the ball away. Nicolae Stanciu then hooked a first time shot into the back of the net to send Romania ahead.

They never looked back. Razvan Murin added a second with an equally brilliant strike from range before Dragus netted a tap-in from a short corner in the second half. Romania go top of Group E ahead of Belgium’s match versus Slovakia and will have their sights set of the knockout rounds now.

Edward Iordanescu's side added a third to confirm their biggest win in the tournament as Dragus finished following a mazy run from lively Parma forward Man.

Romania - who were unbeaten in qualifying - are now in a strong spot to progress from Group E and face Belgium in their next match on Saturday.

Ukraine, quarter-finalists at the Euros three years ago, disappointed, taking 77 minutes to record a shot on target.

Substitute Roman Yaremchuk struck the top of the crossbar for Serhiy Rebrov's team deep into second-half stoppage time.

Ukraine face Slovakia in their next fixture on Friday.
