The NCAA March Madness tournament is always filled with excitement and unpredictability, and the recent matchup between Purdue and N.C. State was no exception. The game ended with a final score of 63-50 in favor of Purdue, but the journey to that outcome was anything but straightforward.
Both teams came into the game with high expectations and a strong desire to advance in the tournament. Purdue's defense proved to be a major factor in their victory, as they were able to shut down N.C. State's offense for much of the game. Today's Final Four action begins with the Purdue Boilermakers taking on the NC State Wolfpack before the Alabama Crimson Tide and UConn Huskies face off in the second game. On the women's side, the Final Four is in the books but the national championship game between Iowa and undefeated South Carolina is set for tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET.
Purdue cruised past N.C. State 63-50 after another big game from All-American center Zach Edey. The 7-foot-4 Canadian finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Boilermakers dominated on the inside. Purdue outrebounded its opponent 41-28 and also added 10 3-pointers.
The Boilermakers pulled away late in the second half, going on a 14-1 run with a little over four minutes remaining.
