$1.3 billion Powerball jackpot numbers drawn

The excitement and anticipation surrounding the $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot drawing in 2024 was palpable. Millions of people across the country held their breath as the numbers were revealed, hoping that they held the winning combination. As each number was called out, hearts raced and dreams of financial freedom danced in the minds of hopeful participants.

When the final number was announced, a collective gasp could be heard as it became clear that there was indeed a winner. The lucky individual or group who held the winning ticket would now be catapulted into unimaginable wealth and luxury.

The jackpot is currently the game's No. 4 drawing of all-time and No. 8 largest lottery prize in U.S. history after no one matched all six numbers on Wednesday night.

Lottery players are waiting for their shot at a Powerball jackpot that has grown to an estimated $1.3 billion after more than three months without a winner.

There have been 40 consecutive drawings since the last time someone won Powerball's top prize on New Year's Day, when a single ticket in Michigan had the numbers for a top prize of $842.2 million.

The 41st drawing night will tie a record for drawings set twice before in 2022 and 2021. Saturday's jackpot will be Powerball's fourth biggest ever and the eighth largest in U.S. lottery history.

The Multi-State lottery could not provide an estimate Saturday night for when the Powerball drawing would take place.

If a player wins the Powerball jackpot Saturday night, they can choose between an estimated lump-sum, pre-tax payment of $608.9 million or annual payouts of the $1.3 billion, also pre-tax -- starting with one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

But beyond the thrill of potentially becoming an overnight billionaire, this historic jackpot served as a reminder of the power of possibility and hope. It showed that dreams can come true, no matter how unlikely they may seem. And for many, it sparked a renewed sense of optimism and belief in miracles.
