In a thrilling showdown between two Western Conference powerhouses, the Dallas Mavericks emerged victorious over the Golden State Warriors with a final score of 108-106. The game was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish, with both teams showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess.
Luka Doncic led the charge for the Mavericks, putting up an impressive performance with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. His clutch plays down the stretch were instrumental in securing the win for Dallas. On the other side, Stephen Curry put on a show for the Warriors with 35 points and 6 assists, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Mavericks' relentless attack.
Head coach Rick Mulinix said the team’s consistent results is a testament to every aspect of the program, from the players and their parents to coaching and institutional cohesiveness.
“Even our down years are not down years, if that makes sense,” Mulinix said. “We’re always going to be competitive. We’re always going to be able to field a team that plays fundamentally sound baseball.”
This year’s team may rise above just being a tough out, however, and ultimately challenge for hardware at the end of the season. The Warriors entered the year ranked as the 16th-best Division II team in the state by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association (OHSBCA), and after a perfect opening week, West Branch jumped to No. 13 in the state rankings.
Stephen Curry scored 28 points, including a tying jumper with 13 seconds to go, as Golden State missed a chance to clinch a postseason spot.
Houston's 119-104 loss to Miami gave the Warriors the chance to wrap up at least 10th place in the West. Instead, a five-game road winning streak ended and the Warriors need a win or Houston loss to become the final West team in the play-in tournament.

That’s because back on Feb. 27, Washington scored what he thought was the game-winning dunk in Cleveland with 2.9 seconds left, only to see Max Strus drill an improbable 59-footer at the buzzer to lift the Cavaliers to a stunning 121-119 triumph over the Mavs.
“About five people came up to me and all they were talking to me about was Cleveland,” a smiling Washington said. “I’m just glad we got a win tonight and closed this one out.”
Curry got Golden State within a point with a long 3. After his blocking foul was held up on review because his heel was above the line in the restricted area, Washington missed one of two free throws, allowing for Curry's jumper to pull the Warriors even at 106-all.
Irving was double-teamed as soon as he caught the ball on the in-bounds play. He got the ball to Hardaway, who lofted a pass to Washington for the lead.
