If you’re watching only Chicago Bulls basketball and are understandably unimpressed, there is some light at the end of this tunnel.
But it’s not ahead. It’s down. Down in the G League, where the Windy City Bulls, led by Chicago’s rookies, have gotten off to a great start to their season.
And some of those performances at least make the losing in the NBA feel a little better. So, let’s talk about what we’ve seen from their first two games so far.

Well, the main reason one of the first moves Bryson Graham made after taking office was overhauling the G League front office and coaching staff was exactly this: turning the Windy City Bulls from a showcase team into a developmental pipeline for the Chicago Bulls.
After seeing Dailyn Swain look a little shaky in the preseason, his fate was almost decided. He was likely going to spend a good amount of time in the G League during his rookie season. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We can already see why.
In his Windy City Bulls debut, the 15th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft put up 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, with just one turnover in 23 minutes of play. He played the point-forward role on a team that cruised to a 127-102 win over the Indiana Pacers’ G League affiliate.

— Windy City Bulls (@windycitybulls) November 7, 2026Even by watching just the highlights, the stat sheet tells you what worked for Dailyn Swain. He was aggressive, making outlet runs and trying to get involved on the offensive glass. I will say, though, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the speed of his shooting mechanics. That won’t fly in the NBA.
But in the G League, it’s a good start.
I think the best part of his stat line was undoubtedly the nine assists to just one turnover. That’s exactly what the Bulls have been trying to develop Swain into: a ball-handling point forward. Some of those assists came through the pick-and-roll, with Swain doing a good job of finding the roller. Again, I don’t know if it’s just the G League, but the speed on some of those passes seemed like they would be far too easy to intercept at the NBA level.

Jaylin Sellers Keeps Impressing
Last night, in their second game against the same Noblesville Boom team, the Windy City Bulls won again, this time 135-128. But this time, the Bulls were without both Swain and Awaka.
And still, another Bulls rookie on a two-way deal, Jaylin Sellers, showed out.
He finished the win with a stat line of 29 points, nine assists and four rebounds, shooting 5-of-9 from three. 18 of those points came just in the second half.
Sellers showcased some elite three-level scoring. Obviously, there were the five made threes, but he also had some great slashing highlights and showed an ability to score in the paint. And also, peep the nine assists!

— NBA G League (@nbagleague) November 8, 2026This is another thing the main Bulls team has been lacking: consistent offense. And Sellers showcased yet another reason why he should eventually get a real run with the Bulls.
Now, it’s only been two games, both against the same team, so we’re not exactly working with the biggest sample size here. But a 2-0 start has been promising. More importantly, it shows that these rookies do have some real untapped potential, and this is what it could look like in a best-case scenario.
They just need more reps to build some consistency, and hopefully, they can translate these performances into shorter-minute rotations against better competition.
