Carlson was a practice squad call-up ahead of the team’s Week 8 game against the Seahawks. The 29-year-old Princeton University product has now played four regular-season games since joining the Bears in 2023. Earnest Brown IV joins the Bears’ practice squad. Taking Carlson’s spot on the practice squad is Earnest Brown IV, a defensive lineman who has bounced around the league. Brown, who played collegiately at Northwestern University, was a 2021 fifth-round pick (174th overall) by the Los Angeles Rams. Since leaving the Rams in 2023, Brown has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers (2024), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2024), Dallas Cowboys (2024-2025), and Tennessee Titans (2026) before joining the Bears.
