After the team’s rousing win over the Seahawks Monday, Johnson once again busted out his version of the “stanky leg,” much to his players’ — and fans’ – delight.
“I need it!” some could be heard shouting before Johnson completed what has now become a winning tradition, leading to a roaring applause from the locker room.
The move began after the team’s first Monday night game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles, when Johnson said he was caught off guard by his team waiting for him to dance.
“We had some guys doing that in high school,” Johnson told reporters after footage began going viral. “So honestly I had no idea [the players] were waiting for me like that and so I didn’t know what to do so I just – that was a panic move is what it was.”
But what started as “panic move,” quickly became good, then better and now best as Johnson has performed it win after win.
The move now has some fans asking the team to do a “stanky leg shuffle,” harkening back to the 1985 Bears’ Super Bowl Shuffle. It has become the center of gifs across social media and players, including Caleb Williams, have joined in on the celebration.
