Kenny Gainwell, in a reserve role, added 25 carries and 140 rushing yards. That rushing duo did the heavy lifting while Mayfield posted the following line:

If you were looking for someone who could complete a pass to a Buccaneers player, look no further than the Falcons’ quarterback. Michael Penix Jr. completed 8 of 24 passes for 125 yards, but the most notable thing in his box score is the four interceptions. Penix completed more passes to Bucs players than Mayfield did. Go figure. Penix wasn’t sacked on Sunday, but he did finish the day with a 12.0 quarterback rating. That is far higher than I expected for a 4-INT day.
Maybe this could have been resolved had the teams been wearing their cool throwback uniforms. Or if they weren’t playing in a downpour. Who’s to say?
