As a Bears fan, it gave me the ick hearing that the Packers and Vikings are among the teams reportedly interested in swinging a trade for Jonathan Taylor. That guy is awesome. He is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl campaigns, has four seasons with at least 1,100 rushing yards, four years with 12+ total touchdowns, and five years with 1,000+ scrimmage yards. The last thing I want to see is someone with that kind of résumé joining a Bears rival.

You can always find ways to get picks back. But what you can’t easily find are difference-making running backs who have been as good and durable as Taylor.

The NFL Trade Deadline is Nov. 10. It will be interesting to see if there is any more movement on this front. Indianapolis is in full-rebuild mode after shipping off star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Trading away Taylor would further accelerate the Colts’ rebuild with the picks that come back their way. If that is how the cookie crumbles, I just hope it means Taylor is going somewhere other than Green Bay or Minnesota.
