A downtown car wreck is causing delays and detours in Carrboro Thursday evening.
The town government issued an alert to the community at 4:32 p.m. Thursday saying emergency responders are addressing a multi-vehicle collision at South Greensboro Street and Braxton Foushee Street. The site is by the Drakeford Library Complex — which is the site of a listening session Thursday night hosted by the Town of Carrboro about its exploration of merging police departments with Chapel Hill.
Public safety officials closed a portion of the road. As a result, southbound traffic is encouraged to detour to Main Street while northbound traffic is being rerouted to Two Hills Drive at the South Green shopping Center, according to the town.
The alert at 4:32 p.m. said additional updates will be shared as the response to the wreck continues.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
