News by : (News10NBC) -

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We tied a record high of 76 degrees on Thursday at the Rochester airport! We have not been this warm on October 29th since 1896. However, that warmth will not be sticking around for long. A cold front is moving through the eastern Great Lakes Thursday evening and will bring a few scattered showers to Western New York after 7pm. It may be possible to pick up on a few thunderstorms especially south of Rochester. Winds will start to shift to out of the northwest behind this cold front and will likely remain breezy through Friday.

As the cold front moves through this evening, scattered rain showers will move northwest to southeast across Western New York. Most areas will pick up no more than a tenth of an inch through Friday morning. Low temperatures Thursday night will stay in the upper-40s for Rochester and low to mid 40s in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier. Friday morning will start with temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s across much of the area and will not climb much through the day. As a cool northwesterly breeze takes over, high temperatures will only reach into the mid-50s on Friday. This cooler air may also support a few lake showers at times, especially east of Rochester Friday morning. Light lake sprinkles off of Lake Ontario may return again Friday evening and into Saturday morning, with only trace accumulations expected.

It is not impossible to see a few lake sprinkles on Saturday morning. However, dry air will start to move in through Saturday afternoon and evening. High temperatures on Saturday will reach near 55 degrees for Rochester and winds are expected to stay light out of the northeast at 5 to 10 mph. Your current trick-or-treating forecast brings temperatures in the mid to upper 40s by Saturday evening and no rain in the forecast! Sunday is expected to bring milder weather with high temperatures in the low-60s and sunny skies.
