LL Cool J is ready to rock Vegas for his first Sin City residency.
The two-time Grammy winner will kick off Rock the Bells: The Residency on May 15, 2027, at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
“This isn’t me doing a show in Vegas. It’s all of us. Artists from different generations and different genres, sharing one stage, for fans who were there at the beginning and kids hearing it for the first time,” the rapper/actor said. “People from all over the world come to Vegas to celebrate, so this show belongs here.”
LL, born James Todd Smith, will perform five shows in May, and six more in July.
“Hip-hop started in a few neighborhoods in New York, and now it belongs to the whole world,” he added. “Along the way it changed rock, R&B, pop, soul, dance music, all of it. Rock the Bells celebrates everybody who was part of that story.”
The residency is named after the third single from his 1985 platinum debut album, Radio. LL is also hosting his fourth Rock the Bells Festival on November 29 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., featuring numerous stars, including Lil Kim, SWV, Method Man & Redman, and more.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member began his iconic recording career in 1984 at 16, earning multiple gold and platinum albums. In 1985, he appeared as himself in the film
Krush Groove, beginning a long acting career including 29 movies.
After he began dating Quincy Jones’ daughter, Kidada Jones, in 1992, the famed producer cast him in his first TV series, In the House (1995-1999), co-starring Debbie Allen.
