Expect to see Walsh likely back in action at the Short Course World Championship Trials at the end of the month, where she will have the opportunity to book her spot on her second SC Worlds team. Her first, in 2024, was a historic success: she won seven gold medals in seven events and set 11 World Records (along with 14 American Records), surpassing Mark Spitz and Michael Phelps for the most all-time records broken at a single competition. For her efforts, not surprisingly, Walsh was named Swimmer of the Meet.
Walsh now holds nine current World Records:
Individual SCM World Records in the women’s 50 free, 50 fly, 100 fly and 100 IM. Relay SCM World Records in the women’s 4×100 free and 4×100 medley. Individual LCM World Record in the women’s 100 fly. Relay LCM World Records in the women’s 4×100 medley and mixed 4×100 medley.Race Video
