Their fandom has grown increasingly disgruntled about the show not giving equal time and props to them for their on-the-road rehearsals week after week. A TikTok video posted before the October 6 show, with cell phone footage of the duo practicing their routine on a baseball field in between his games, has gone viral.

One fan lamented, “They need to show this on dwts!!!!! He does a lot behind the scenes!!! They show the guy on greys anatomy why not the baseball?”

She admitted that she and Olson were relieved to make it through their “roller coaster of a week, emotionally, physically, mentally.” On top of rehearsals and baseball games, Olson wound up navigating some harsh pushback from fans when a sarcastic comment he made about fellow contestant Guillermo Rodriguez went viral. But he has since apologized and the two have assured fans all is well between them.
Slater said she just wants Olson to feel happy and have fun, noting in her video, “I do know that Jackson finds a lot of enjoyment just in his day-to-day with everything that he’s doing. It’s nice to see him in that place and it’s rough to see him not in that place.”
