Northeastern VS Vermont (Women Only)
October 3, 2026 Burlington, VT 25 yards (SCY) Scores: Vermont – 158, Northeastern – 123 Full ResultsThe University of Vermont’s swimming and diving team celebrated its 50th anniversary with a historic win over the Northeastern University women on Saturday, topping the Huskies 158 to 123 in the teams’ season opener.
The Catamounts’ victory marked the team’s first time in program history defeating Northeastern since the two schools first faced each other in 2010.
Vermont won 10 out of the 15 events of the day; Ariel Indrisano and Robyn Tonomura-MacDonald were the team’s top scorers of the meet, each winning two individual events.
Indrisano prevailed in the 50 breast (31.04) and 100 breast (1:07.61), with her performance in the 100 breast being about one-and-a-half seconds faster than her time from last year’s season opener against Northeastern. Indrisano also placed 6th in the 100 IM, setting a lifetime best time of 1:02.24.
Tonomura-MacDonald swept the diving events, winning the 1-meter event with 238.65 points and the 3-meter event with 253.05 points.
Also turning in top performances for Vermont were freshmen Amaya Olivieri, who won the 100 IM in a personal best time of 59.72 and helped the Catamounts to victory in the 200 medley relay, and Boryana Krasteva, who prevailed in the 50 back (27.46). Joining Olivieri on the winning relay team were Gwyneth Lister, Paige Korbely and Anastazja Szukala.
Krasteva was also the runner-up in the 100 back (59.09), while Olivieri placed 3rd in the 100 fly (58.05).
Vermont junior Katie Lester logged her first-ever collegiate win, getting her hand on the wall first in the 100 back (59.00).
Northeastern’s Havana Layton was the Huskies’ top-scoring athlete of the meet and the only competitor across the board to have a hand in three victories. Layton won the 50 free (24.34) and 100 free (52.85); her performance in the 50 free perfectly tied her time in the event from this meet last season.
Layton helped Northeastern to victory in the 200 free relay, joined by teammates Mary Nordmann, Alex Fuller and May Bradburn.
Another key Northeastern contributor, Bradburn brought home another Husky victory in the 50 fly (25.73) and was the runner-up in the 50 free (24.50) behind Layton.
The Huskies clocked a 1-2 finish in both the 50 fly and 100 fly; Fuller won the 100 fly in 56.79, while Nordmann took 2nd in both races in 25.79 and 57.72, respectively. Nordmann hails from a family of swimmers; she is the sister of Lucie, Lillie and Zoe Nordmann, who swam at Stanford, Stanford and Northwestern, respectively.
