The official logo for the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane, Australia, has been released… officially. The logo was released two days earlier than expected after it was briefly uploaded to the official Brisbane 2032 YouTube channel on Thursday, but the video was taken down shortly after.
The Brisbane 2032 Instagram page poked fun at the logo’s unplanned early reveal, sharing the new cockatoo-inspired logo for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The logos depict the pink cockatoo, which the Australian Museum in Sydney called an “outback Australian icon”.
In an article from the Australian Museum, Major Sir Thomas Mitchell wrote that the bird “enliven the monotonous hues of the Australian forest,” describing the bird’s multi-colored crest and wings as having “embellished the air of a more voluptuous region.” The pink cockatoo is also formerly known as Major Mitchell’s cockatoo, as Mitchell wrote about the bird in 1836 in a famous poetic journal entry. His name was removed from the bird due to his role in the First Nations people in New South Wales in 1836.

Brisbane 2032 minister Tim Mander shared his thoughts on the logo that embodies the “cheeky nature of the Queensland spirit.”
This is an incredibly important milestone as we head to 2032, which is just less than six years away,” Mander said in a report from Nine.com. “It’s an emblem that embodies the cheeky nature of the Queensland spirit; it’s an emblem that reflects our state and symbolizes it; it’s an emblem that will be synonymous with the Games and will be known for decades to come.”
