Speaking with Gold Derby, guitarist Nancy Wilson revealed that the album is essentially complete and called it a return to the band's roots.
Wilson said the band plans to deliver the album at the end of August before coordinating its release alongside a world tour, a Heart documentary, and a long-awaited feature film about the band's career.
The announcement comes 51 years after Heart released Dreamboat Annie in Canada in 1975. The album, featuring "Magic Man" and "Crazy on You," became the band's breakthrough release, eventually reaching No. 7 on the Billboard 200 after its U.S. release in 1976 and establishing the Wilson sisters as one of rock's defining acts.
"It's all about these songs," she said. "It's what we were born to do, and do together."
