Jamie Lee Curtis is supporting Jake and Romy Reiner after the tragic death of their parents Rob and Michele Reiner in 2025. The actress, 67, called Jake, 35, and Romy, 28, “family” and admitted she gets “emotional” when seeing them talk about the late actor and his wife, in a new interview with Extra.
“Of course, I mean, we are family,” Curtis said in a video posted on Nov. 6. “Something like this brings people so much closer. Like Jake and I were sitting shoulder-to-shoulder doing an interview…. and just feeling him there is emotional, and then of course him talking about his parents and their fantastic relationship.”
The Halloween star also said that they are all still navigating the loss together. “There hasn’t been a big public memorial yet, and so we’re all grieving,” she shared.
Curtis’ latest comments about her relationship with Rob’s children come after she talked about her tearful tribute to the legendary director at the 78th Emmy Awards on Sept. 14.
“I felt a responsibility to represent everyone — strangers, fans, colleagues, friends, close friends and family — in that moment at the Emmys,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in an article published on Oct. 23. “I was happy to do it, but it was a little tougher than I anticipated.”
Curtis, who was a “close friend” of Rob and Michele, married her husband, Christopher Guest, at Rob’s home in 1984.
“Rob was the best man. My late sister Kelly was my maid of honor,” she recalled. “So we are close. Rob is our daughter Annie’s godfather. When Michele married Rob, she and Rob became my daughter’s godparents.”
Rob and Michele’s son Nick Reiner was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with their deaths after the couple was found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14, 2025. He has pleaded not guilty to a grand jury indictment that accused him in the fatal stabbings and is currently being held without bail at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in solitary confinement. If he’s convicted, his charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
