A 70-year-old man was hospitalized on Wednesday after he was rescued from the water at Montrose Harbor by bystanders, authorities said.
Around 4 p.m., the man was pulled from the Lake Michigan waters near the 300 block of West Montrose Harbor Drive, according to police.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition, police said.
Aerial video captured by NBC Chicago’s Sky 5 showed a small fire department response at the beach.
