Alison Sweeney has been acting on TV and film sets almost her whole life, starting with a Kodak commercial at age four and landing her breakout role at 16, as Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives. After more than 20 years on the soap, she branched out to become one of Hallmark‘s most beloved leading ladies; she’s starred in over 30 rom-coms and cozy mystery movies.
Sweeney, 50, knows the business inside and out, including how some of the best moments happen off-camera, in the juicy and insightful conversations that happen during downtime with her co-stars and other colleagues. Now, she’s decided to let fans in on some of those candid chats with her new podcast, Between Takes with Ali Sweeney.
Launched on Sunday, November 2, her first conversation is with Victor Webster, her co-star in Hallmark’s popular Hannah Swensen Mysteries franchise. He, too, got his start on Days of Our Lives, playing Nicholas Alamain, and went on to star in series like Mutant X and Workin’ Moms. He also took over for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in The Scorpion movie franchise.

Webster teased her, “You mean when you’re not sending producer emails, when you’re not rewriting the scripts you wrote, when you’re not memorizing lines, when you’re not putting out fires?”
Sweeney and Webster are so comfortable with each other that they were able to lightheartedly bounce from one insightful topic to the next, from Webster’s favorite getaway to his beloved pup, Nova, to some life updates Sweeney didn’t expect.
During their 45-minute chat, Webster revealed he’s been diagnosed with narcolepsy, explaining the reason he often nods off on-set during breaks. The risk-taking actor, whose ‘Tis the Season for Setups premiered via Hallmark Channel in October, also admitted he struggles with amnesia due to concussions he’s suffered during adventures-gone-sideways.
Between Takes with Ali Sweeney is available via Apple, Amazon, and Spotify. Sweeney is currently filming her next Hallmark movie overseas, but plans to continue releasing new episodes on a regular basis, at least through the holiday season. You can also catch her co-starring with Ashley Williams in Hallmark Channel’s Miles to Christmas on November 29 at 8 p.m. ET.
