The proposed arrangement stipulates a halt to Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs in exchange for Hezbollah’s commitment not to carry out any attacks against Israel, with the aim of expanding the ceasefire to encompass all Lebanese territories.
The statement added that US President Donald Trump later contacted Lebanese Ambassador to the United States Nada Moawad and informed her of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s agreement to the arrangement.

The Lebanese presidency explained in the statement that “the scheduled negotiating meetings will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss this progress and build upon the ceasefire.”
