Fans Are Furious With Wendy’s After the Fast Food Chain Is Seemingly Caught ‘Lying’ ...Saudi Arabia

News by : (Parade) -

Wendy’s promised fans an emo album made by people. Now, a YouTuber’s breakdown of the record has some listeners questioning whether the fast-food chain lied about that claim.

The six-track EP, Songs to Listen to in a Wendy’s Parking Lot, arrived back on September 23, 2026, featuring singers from bands including Silverstein, Memphis May Fire, and State Champs.

At the time, Wendy’s said it was “made by real musicians, not generated by AI,” and named producer Matt Squire as part of the creative team.

But in a video shared Tuesday, November 3, YouTuber Jacobra argues that some guitar parts sound synthetic and points to drum passages he says would be difficult for a human player to perform, as they’d need to have three arms. He focuses on moments when a fast drum flourish and cymbal hit seem to overlap, then compares the finished track with behind-the-scenes footage that appears to show a drummer playing a different part.

Fans seemed to agree in the comments.

“SUNO has a very distinctive “metal guitar” amp tone and style. Its instantly recognisable. Its exactly the same for the drums. Its absolutely SUNO,” one wrote.

“I KNEW IT!!!! when I first listened I was like this sounds soooo much like AI. then looking at the credits seeing so few names I was like HMMMMMMM,” another shared.

A third said, “You know, I actually had my guitar teacher tab this out and he said that this was AI and I said that Wendy’s said that they didn’t use any AI. I guess I should’ve listened to him.”

Jacobra suggests the recordings may have begun as AI-generated demos with SUNO (a generative AI music platform) before being reworked and layered with vocals from the guest singers. That is his theory, and it’s important to note the video does not present direct evidence such as session files or AI-generated source tracks confirming it.

There is another detail in the credits—all six songs list a drum programmer. That could account for drum parts that would be difficult to play live, but again, it does not establish whether AI was involved.

When the album launched, Wendy’s said it was a collaboration with musicians from the emo scene and directly addressed AI concerns. The company’s statement really hammered home the idea that the record was created by actual, real-life musicians.

The songs turn Wendy’s menu and parking-lot moments into pop-punk subject matter, with punny titles like “Salt in the Wound” and “My Frosty’s Funeral.”

At this time, Wendy’s has not responded to Parade’s request for comment nor spoken out on the claims.
