As we enter the final weekend of February, we have officially reached show up or go home time in the regular seasons for Blackhawks prospects. We’re nearing conference tournament time, which means we’re also nearing the time when coaches and players are paying attention to their NPI ranking — and hopes of being part of the NCAA tournament.
The good news is it appears the Blackhawks’ prospects playing in the college ranks right now are as healthy as they have been in a while. Václav Nestrašil returned last week for UMass and Adam Gajan should be back on campus at Minnesota-Duluth this weekend after a couple weeks at the Olympics. Sacha Boisvert and the Terriers need to do some work if they want to get into the NCAA tournament, though.
