We’re just one sleep away from our next installment of the Bears-Packers rivalry.
The Mike Ditka tributes that poured in on Friday were plentiful. Here are some that stood out to me:When I got to Chicago in the summer of 1985, Mike Ditka and the Chicago Bears were king. Coach Ditka set the tone for a team that was punishing, dominant, and fun — and the city loved him for it. I’m thinking of the Ditka family and Bears fans everywhere on the passing of a legend.

— Michal Dwojak (@mdwojak94) October 9, 2026 If you get a chance, I encourage you to read what members of the BN Team had to say while sharing their Ditka memories. This post is my favorite thing Patrick has written this year. A quote from Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson on Ditka, via 104.3 The Score’s Chris Emma: “He carried that demeanor and mindset over to coaching the entire team, and certainly those teams emulated what he was all about. No surprise the success they had in those 11 years.”BEARS-PACKERS WEEK 5 PREVIEW — EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
I could do so much more Ditka content today. However, the Bears have a huge game against the Green Bay Packers coming up TOMORROW. And let’s be real, as much as Da Coach would have loved the outpouring of memories and tributes, you just know that he’d trade it all for a win against the Packers. ICYMI: Kyle Monangai is OUT for Packers Week. This takes some wind out of our sails, especially for those of us who expected the Bears to ride Monangai and tag team partner D’Andre Swift to victory. Roschon Johnson is the next man up on the depth chart. He got some touches (4 carries, 16 yards; 1 catch, 7 yards) in Week 4’s win against the New York Jets. Johnson spent much of the summer on the roster bubble, but a strong preseason helped him land a spot on the season-opening 53-man roster. It would be fun to see Johnson parlay that into a signature Bears-Packers moment.CHECK OUT THE BN BEARS PODCAST: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
That said, I expect the Bears to elevate Brittain Brown onto the active roster for depth. I also think we’ll see Luther Burden III, Zavion Thomas, and Kalif Raymond get some handoffs. It’ll be a real team effort out of the backfield on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Mandatory Credit: Mike Dinovo-Imagn Images NFL insiders are reporting that the Arizona Cardinals are making Marvin Harrison Jr. inactive for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions as the team prepares to finalize a trade for the disappointing wideout. The son of the Colts Hall of Famer was a first-round pick in 2024 and was viewed by NFL Draft analysts and fans as a generational talent at the position. He has yet to live up to the hype, but maybe he will find it at his next stop. The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly considering coaching staff changes after the team’s latest loss, a Thursday Night Football defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and backup quarterback Jalon Daniels. They can’t blame Matt Eberflus this time around, as they already fired him. Something to watch in the future, as a pair of head coaches are back in play-calling roles. The Broncos have taken offensive play-callling duties away from Davis Webb and returned them to Sean Payton. Elsewhere, the Texans will have DeMeco Ryans taking over as Houston’s defensive play-caller. It is a shame that the Broncos and Texans aren’t scheduled to face each other.FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook | Twitter | BlueSky
