2 People Found Dead in Las Vegas Home After Young Child Calls 911 ...Middle East

News by : (Us magazine) -

Two people were found dead inside a home in Las Vegas on Wednesday, January 28, after a young child called 911 to report the tragedy.

Lt. Robert Price with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said during a press conference later in the day that the 911 call was made around 7:20 a.m., and the young child asked for officers to report to a home on the 8600 block of Rowland Bluff Avenue. The child also told the 911 dispatcher that his mother was injured and needed help.

Upon their arrival, officers found a man and woman who were suffering from serious injuries. Price said that both the man and woman – who were believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s — were pronounced dead at the scene after medical assistance arrived.

The victims have not been publicly identified and their relationship to each other is not currently known. While the woman was the child’s mother, Price told reporters that the male victim had not been identified in any way at that time.

Meanwhile, specific details about how they died have not yet been shared. However, Price told reporters that “no weapons” were found at the scene that they initially knew of. Price also noted that investigators had not been granted access into the home at the time the press conference was held, but they hoped to learn more details once they were granted access.

After the bodies were found, an investigation was launched into the deaths. Officers came to the conclusion that the deaths were an isolated incident, and it’s believed that there is no danger facing the public. Additionally, Price said that police officers are still working to obtain a warrant to conduct a full search of the home.

Price was asked during the press conference if the incident was domestic violence-related, and he said it was still too early in the investigation to determine. He also said that officers were looking through past phone calls to see if anyone at the residence previously reported domestic violence-related issues to authorities.

“There’s details leading us to believe that this is not like a murder-suicide, but once again, we haven’t made it into the house yet,” Price told reporters. “We’re still working on search warrants before we can positively say that.”

Price added that Child Protective Services has been contacted to assist the child who called 911 to report the deaths. It’s not currently clear how old the child is, though Price told reporters that the kid is “very young” and added they’re younger than 10 years old.

The officer added that it will be up to CPS to determine where the child ends up living. He also noted that it was not known if the child had any family members nearby.

Police are asking that anyone with information contact LVMPD’s homicide section. Those with information can also call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 in order to remain anonymous.
