For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Florida high school state finalist Brian Dolan will be headed north next fall to compete for Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey.
“I am extremely honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Saint Peters University! Thank you to my parents, coaches, and friends for the constant love and support on my journey. I also want to thank Coach Jose for this opportunity! I’m so excited to get the chance to go D1!! Go Peacock’s”
A senior at Tocoi Creek High School in St. Augustine, Florida, Dolan has competed for his school’s varsity swimming and diving team all four years. He also currently trains year-round with Sporting Jax Aquatic Club, where he primarily specializes in sprint free and fly.
Dolan turned in a series of top performances at the 2025 Florida Senior Championship in March, logging four new lifetime best times. He contested the 100 free (50.32), 200 free (1:47.99), 50 fly (24.32) and 200 fly (2:01.00), posting personal bests in each event. He also raced the 50 free (22.96) and 100 fly (54.27), but narrowly missed his best times in both swims.
Dolan has enjoyed a strong season so far this year, clocking at least one best time at nearly every meet he has raced. He posted a lifetime best in the 100 fly (53.81) at the Frank Holleman Invitational, in the 200 IM (2:06.75) at the Planet Swim Season Opener and in the 100 free (50.17) at the October Classic.
At the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association) 4A Region 1 Championships in November, Dolan lowered his times even further in two events. He placed 5th in the 100 fly (52.52 – PB) and 8th in the 200 free (1:45.29 – PB), in addition to helping his team to a 2nd-place finish in the 200 medley relay and a 7th-place finish in the 200 free relay.
A few weeks later, Dolan competed at the 2025 FHSAA Class 4A State Championship, where he earned a second swim alongside his teammates in the 200 medley relay. He helped Tocoi to a 5th-place finish overall in that event, splitting 23.90 on the fly leg as the squad stopped the clock in 1:34.91. Dolan also placed 21st in the 100 fly (52.85) and 23rd in the 200 free (1:47.32) and helped his team to a 13th-place finish in the 200 free relay.

To earn a second swim at last season’s championship, it took times of 20.92/45.66/1:41.86 in the 50/100/200 free and 50.08/1:53.63 in the 100/200 fly, putting Dolan outside the cutoff in each of his top events.
On the team itself, Dolan would have ranked 2nd in the 100 fly and 200 fly, 3rd in the 200 free, 6th in the 100 free and 8th in the 50 free, putting him in a position to be a strong contributor for the Peacocks right from the start.
Currently set to join Dolan in Jersey City in the fall are Chris Wright, Matteo Cue Quintero and Dylan Clark, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
