Nov. 23

9 a.m. A caller from an unknown address reported that his ex-girlfriend was outside his home and threatening to call a welfare check on him if he did not go outside to talk to her, and wanted to let officers to know that he is OK if a welfare check was called for him.

Nov. 24

8:15 a.m. A caller from the 1900 block of 44th Avenue Court called in reference to a cat that had crawled up inside a car. An officer advised the caller to leave the hood of the car open to let the cat out, as an officer would not reach their hand in to grab the cat.

10:30 a.m. A caller from an unknown address reported they had received $600 through the Zelle banking app and were unsure who it was from, and that they would like to return the money if possible.

Nov. 25

1 p.m. A caller from an unknown address said her 12-year-old son confessed to her that he stole a family friend’s phone. Though the phone was returned and the family friend didn’t want to press charges, the caller wanted an officer to speak with her son and discuss resources.

Nov. 26

11:45 a.m. A caller from the 2800 block of 10th Street said his mother died in June and while sorting through her stuff, he found a gun. He called as his mother had never mentioned she owned a gun and had questions about keeping it. An officer informed him that he would be allowed to keep the gun.

2:30 p.m. A caller from an unknown location tried to use a coupon at a store, but the store did not validate the coupon and she had to pay full price. She wanted an officer to go with her to the store to prove the coupon was valid and to get back the money she felt she was owed. An officer advised her that police cannot force a store to give a refund.

Nov. 27

7:15 a.m. A caller from the 1500 block of 9th Avenue said his girlfriend has to do a breathalyzer test five times per day but lost the breathalyzer. They asked for resources and where they could do the test.

Nov. 28

8 a.m. A caller from the 2400 block of 9th Avenue said there were many stray cats in the area and it smelled like cat pee. An officer advised him to start trapping the cats, as Animal Control could then pick them up, but an officer would not show up to chase around the cats.

4:30 p.m. A caller from an unknown address reported that his daughter was bit by a dog, and that the bite broke skin. The caller wanted to press charges against the dog’s owner.

Nov. 29

3:30 p.m. A caller from the intersection of 11th Street and 86th Avenue asked if that area was a safe place to fry a turkey and if he was going to be ticketed for doing so.

Nov. 30

11:15 a.m. A caller from an unknown address reported their downstairs neighbor controls the caller’s water heater and furnace, and that they had turned it off. An officer spoke with the landlord and said someone was on the way to fix the issue.

1:45 p.m. A caller from an unknown address reported that a “guy is fooling around” with her television and she wanted to speak with an officer. An officer advised her that police are not TV repair men.
