ROCHESTER, N.Y. — News10NBC highlighted the final recipient of this fall’s “Do The Right Thing” awards. Over the past two weeks, News10NBC has been sharing the stories of these inspiring young girls and boys.
We introduced Greece Olympia eighth grader Anthony Medina. Last year, when a fight broke out among friends, Anthony chose to intervene instead of recording the altercation like others around him.
“Be a good influence on other young kids to grow up and show other kids, because a lot of people don’t have what we have and we just need to be a good influence on anyone just because some people don’t know what to do,” Medina said.
Anthony’s school counselor emphasized the importance of students not being bystanders but taking action and leading by example when witnessing bad behavior.
News10NBC is a proud sponsor of the Rochester Police Department’s “Do The Right Thing” awards.
