West Virginia only won one swimming event on the final night. Maddie Smutny earned the top time in the women’s 200 fly with her 1:59.03 coming in just one hundredth behind her lifetime best in the event from February of this year. She touched more than seven tenths ahead of Georgetown’s Angelica Reali who swam 1:59.75 for 2nd.
The women’s diving team won two events, taking the team title with Stravroula Chalemou, Abigail Sullivan, and Amari Brown-Swint scoring 267.30. Chalemou also won the women’s platform with her 243.95 score giving her her first individual event of the weekend.
William and Mary finished 2nd overall in the meet, but they also earned a few event wins on the final day. Caroline Burgeson swept the sprint freestyle events at the meet with her 100 free time of 49.89 winning the event by just eight hundredths over Georgetown’s Maddie Malone, who touched in 49.96.
Lindsay Juhlin won the 200 breast in 2:13.10, about a second-and-a-half ahead of teammate Kaitlyn Conover-Emmert, who touched in 2:14.77. The Tribe also earned the 3rd place finish with Sophie Heilen‘s 2:14.92.

The West Virginia men won by about 900 points over Georgetown. The Mountaineer’s Vedaant Madhavan won the 1650 to start the team off with a win in 15:19.43, about a second add from his best 15:18.65 from March.
Szymon Mieczkowski won the 200 back in 1:42.47, a new personal best time, dropping from the 1:43.09 he swam last November.
The 200 breast went to Rafael Miguel Mimoso in 1:56.64, about a second ahead of teammate Caden Oprandy who finished 2nd in 1:57.58 and Zsombor Bujdoso was 3rd in 2:00.03 also for the West Virginia team.
In the diving well, sophomore Levi Hellmann won the platform in 332.55, his 2nd diving event win of the weekend.
