A driver who struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Chicago’s West Rogers Park neighborhood was taken into custody, police said.
The incident was reported at approximately 3:02 a.m. in the 2400 block of West Devon Avenue near North Western Avenue. Chicago police said a 41-year-old man was struck by a green sedan traveling eastbound on Devon Avenue.
The victim sustained unspecified trauma and was taken to an Evanston hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said. The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital in good condition and placed in custody.
Chicago police said charges were pending as of early Saturday morning but didn’t provide additional details about the alleged crimes.
