Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi dragged to court amid ongoing tussle with BCCI ...Middle East

News by : (cricketaddictor) -

This longtime split between the Pakistan Cricket Board's PSL wing and Multan Sultan owner Tareen spilled the beans over when Tareen publicly criticised the league in the buildup to its 10th edition. He had alleged that the PCB had a lack of transparency and no clear communication within its management.

Previously, last week, the Multan Sultans owner, Ali Tareen, confirmed that the franchise has yet to receive an offer from the PSL to renew their ownership of the franchise. The PCB too had confirmed that the renewal offers, as well as franchise fees, were already sent to 'all compliant PSL franchises.'

Since then, it has been believed that all 5 franchise owners were handed the opportunity to extend their ownership, with the renewal valid for a further ten years. The Sultans' representatives were invited to attend meetings concerning the scheduling and operations of the upcoming PSL.

Pakistan Cricket Board threatened with legal action by Multan Sultan owners

On answering those who have questioned why this is not being handled behind closed doors, he revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board has refused to engage with them. He finally threatened that if this ghosting continues, then it is most likely they will resort to legal action.

Over the past month, we have sent multiple emails to the PSL management, asking for our valuation and renewal letter (which every other team has already received). But there has been no response. No response to our legal letter, no response to our emails, no response to my letter to the Chairman.

For those asking why this is not being handled behind closed doors, it is simply because the PSL Management refuse to engage with us.

This entire situation is so unnecessary and could have easily been solved over tea and biscuits. But fragile egos make simple things difficult.

PSL franchise values were increased by 25%

Some of the franchises then revealed that they now have 10 days to respond to the renewal offers. Every franchise will have to consider paying the increased annual franchise fee, as a minimum of 25% has been added to what they used to pay in the previous seasons.
