Parts of the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) were shut down during the Friday morning rush hour commute after a deadly crash, with at least one person fleeing the scene and another ejected from a car.
The crash occurred about 5:48 a.m. on I-94 northbound near Marquette Road, Illinois State Police said.
According to ISP, three people were inside a vehicle at the time of the crash. One occupant fled the scene, and another was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries.
A third occupant was ejected from the vehicle, ISP said, and succumbed to their injuries.
ISP said it wasn’t yet known how the crash occurred, or the circumstances surrounding it.
All inbound lanes on I-94 between Marquette Road and the Chicago Skyway (I-90) are closed, Traffic Net reported, with solid traffic backing up to 95th St.
