ROCHESTER, N.Y. – High pressure overhead and cool air in place means more frost for our region into Tuesday. A freeze warning remains in effect Monday night into early Tuesday morning, as the growing season continues to come to an end. If you have any plans you want to keep alive, bring them in! Temperatures on Tuesday will climb into the lower 50s under a lot of sunshine and blue skies. We’ll keep our weather dry and somewhat cool through Wednesday, though clouds will begin to thicken late Wednesday ahead of our next area of low pressure.
A widespread soaking rain will develop by Thursday morning, and stick with us through most of the day. As this low pulls away, the rain becomes more scattered and showery to end the work week. This does mean some wet weather is likely for the Trick or Treaters on Friday evening. Temperatures both Thursday and Friday will hold in the upper 40s, and both days will feature a cool breeze.
Some occasional showers will continue into the start of the weekend, but the wettest weather for us by far will occur on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hurricane Melissa is a major category 5 storm set to make landfall on the island of Jamaica Tuesday morning with potentially devastating flash flooding, mudslides and damaging winds. This storm will have no impact on the mainland United States.
