The pressure continued in the companion piece challenge, where designers Joan and Yuchen found themselves in the bottom two. Fashion icon Law Roach did not hold back his criticism. He described Joan's look as "a church outfit... she could praise the Lord in this outfit." Roach's most pointed critique, however, was reserved for Yuchen, a streetwear designer. "I am so mad at you over this look," he exclaimed. "This was your challenge to win. I almost want to jump out of the chair and beat you up for making this look." Judge Heidi Klum agreed, saying, "You're not showing us anything new." Yuchen tearfully agreed, shocking the judges by admitting he was ashamed of his look.
