Lane bags $337m contract to widen I-85 in North Carolina ...Middle East

Webuild Group’s US subsidiary Lane has won a $337m contract to widen a 16km section of the I-85 highway in Gaston County, North Carolina, a busy commuter route in the Charlotte metropolitan area.

Commissioned by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Lane will widen the road from six to eight lanes, widen or replace six bridges, and rebuild two interchanges and one intersection without suspending traffic.

Work is expected to finish in 2029.

Webuild said North America is its second biggest foreign market in revenue terms.
