The Traitors: New Blood has arrived! Throughout the season, Mike Bloom will speak with someone from the star-studded cast who was murdered or banished on the iconic Emmy-winning reality series.For two rounds, Logan Smith had a gas playing the “silent, but deadly” game on The Traitors: New Blood. Nestled in a neighborhood of big personalities, the realtor opted to keep a low profile, sitting back and observing while occasionally chiming in at the Roundtable. Perhaps it was this bird’s-eye view of the game that had him clocking Xavier Scruggs throwing Katie Fites under the bus the night before his murder. Now armed with vital information, Logan started slightly pushing for Katie, suspecting she was silencing the person gunning for her. Of course, as well all know, the truth is much murkier. Xavier and Katie had to compete as “accomplices” to be picked as a Traitor, and Xavier was trying (and ultimately failing) to make her unappealing as a pick. Unfortunately, this tactic not only sunk the former MLB star’s game, but Logan’s as well. When the Traitors (including Katie) were planning that night’s murder, they flagged how he was already onto her, something that would not bode well for their longevity. And so, even if it put more heat on Katie, they found it better to snuff out Logan when he was in the preliminary stages of gunning for her, before things got carried away.Read below for our interview with Logan. When you ended up getting that letter from the Traitors, how surprised were you at your murder?Oh man! After after it came up at the Roundtable, and you know it wasn’t the timing that I was hoping for it to come up, I kind of expected I might be on the list. I just didn’t think I would be on the list that night. So I was surprised.It obviously seems like Katie was the top of your suspect list by the tme you left. But who else was on your radar?So definitely Joe. And surprisingly, looking back, Abby L. was was up there. I say surprisingly because she’s playing a good game so far. But she just presented so so intelligent and just following that path. She was maybe not very talkative, and so I was. I was kind of picking up on that and thinking maybe she was being a little bit more calculated than than she probably was.What was it about Joe that had you suspecting him?He’s a really good actor! He was calling me handsome more times than I could count, and it started to get suspicious. But that’s all. He was just talking, and he seemed to be getting nervous in some situations, and maybe a little red, so I picked up on that. I don’t know if anybody else did, but I did.I want to talk about your approach to the game, choosing to sit back and observe. How were you able to balance that with, as we saw with Sherry, the idea that you be too quiet can also be perceived as suspicious?Yeah, well, coming in, I had absolutely no plan whatsoever other than to be a Traitor. So whenever I wasn’t picked for one, I literally sat in the room, looking down like, “What in the world am I gonna do?” I had no clue. So the only thing that I knew to do is try to keep my damn mouth shut, because I know that that’ll get me in trouble. So navigating it, I just thought, “Okay, well I’m either gonna have to find the Traitors and send them home, or they’re gonna send me home.” So I tried to take in as much info as I possibly could, and in the meantime, I knew that the only time that everybody’s going to be sitting around watching me would be the Roundtable. So maybe I would try to talk just a little bit. Seems like I talked maybe a little too much at the Roundtable. [Laughs.] But I tried to talk up just a little bit there, so it would be in a amongst the crowd of everybody that knew that I wasn’t just being quiet all the time. So I don’t know. I was trying to teeter on that scale. And I don’t know, maybe I tipped it.Talk to me more about that. Do you feel like the Traitors made the right decision in getting rid of you, considering how you were already suspicious of Katie?I think that they made a poor decision, because they didn’t know that I had said what I did to however many people that I did. So I definitely think that they were betting on it not going anywhere. Which hey, with the evidence that they had at that moment they thought that only Jay and maybe one or two others kind of had that idea. So I don’t blame them at all for picking me. They were trying to put out the fire before it turned into a forest fire, right? So can’t blame them at all. I don’t think they made a bad decision. If I was in their shoes, I definitely would have got rid of me. Well who were some of your fellow arsonsists starting this fire? Who were you working closest with by the time you left?I was definitely keeping everybody a little bit at arm’s length. I feel like that’s just something that I do anyway. But if there was two people that I had to say were the kindest to me, and that I was keeping a little closer, it would definitely be Abbey B. She’s so nice, so personable. I definitely trusted her. Didn’t think that she was a Traitor, and I confided some things in her. And, as bad as Jay was at the time, he was a good buddy of mine. And he and I we were definitely bumping ideas off of each other. But, like I said, I wasn’t exactly ready for him to say the Katie thing just yet, but that’s okay. But yeah, I’d say that those two people were were probably the nicest to me so far.Did Jay clue you into any of the method to his madness, causing chaos to try to be a shield for the Traitors?I felt like he definitely did tell me some things that I was privy to that maybe others weren’t. And hey, he is playing an extremely unique game, and I can’t blame him for that. I mean, anybody that’s mad at him for that, hey, it’s our first time being on TV! The biggest thing you can do is be a personality, and he is definitely succeeding in that.Bringing things back around to Katie, prior to Xavier beginning to throw her name out, were you suspicious of her at all?A little bit. She she hadn’t done anything up until that point. But whenever he said it, I started to pay a little bit more attention. And I felt like she was being a little little more nervous in certain situations, maybe putting on a face in a different cadence in certain conversations. So I was picking up on that, and I think that that’s what was really leading me into that. And after somebody said that “it was probably a Traitor-on-Traitor” kind of thing with with maybe Xavier being part of that, it was just clicking for me. And I think that I just got lucky enough to put the right puzzle pieces together.Finally, what’s one thing from your experience in Scotland that didn’t make the edit that you wish we saw?I don’t know. I wish that everybody got a chance to see more of the Roundtable. They’re condensed. Because there are some funny and maybe not so funny moments. [Laughs.] If I had to pick one, they could definitely be more of the Roundtable, because they are long. [Specifically] the first one. I feel like with Kriste, I felt like there was more to that, maybe. There was a lot of energy in that one.
