ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Saturday hit 90 degrees for the 4th time this season, and more is on the way. Sunday is expected to be hotter, with highs in the low to mid 90s across the area. Dew points will continue to climb into the 60s, which will make it feel more like the mid to upper 90s for a few hours during the afternoon hours. A Heat Advisory is posted for the entire area as a result. Just take is easy on Sunday and make sure you’re staying hydrated, and finding shade when outside. Otherwise, it should be a great day for pools and beaches!
We may squeeze out one more day near 90 on Monday, if we can hold off our next cold front long enough. If we do, it would be our second heat wave of the summer. Monday will be the most humid day, as dew points climb to near 70 degrees with the approach of that cold front. The front will bring scattered showers and some thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon. A few storms could produce some downpours, with so much moisture in the air.
Tuesday will turn more comfortable as the front moves away and drier air moves in. In fact, we’ll hold in the upper 70s and lower to mid 80s for much of the rest of next week, along with small rain or storm chances by later in the week.
