Florida has landed a blue-chip commitment for its 2026 recruiting class.
Desmond Green is the newest Gator pledge. The lineman from South Carolina announced his plans to play for Billy Napier‘s program on Thursday. In a live ceremony, Green quipped about the summer heat before saying, “Gator Boys stay hot,” and revealing a UF shirt.

He is rated 4-stars, the No. 9 player in the state of South Carolina, No. 33 interior offensive lineman and No. 393 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Green picked up scholarship offers from 20 programs during his recruitment, including Alabama, Clemson, Arkansas, Colorado, Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oregon and Tennessee. Ahead of his big decision, he visited his top schools and chose Florida over South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma and Georgia.
