It was a mild Monday in San Diego County with temperatures forecast to run a few degrees below average through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures Tuesday are expected to reach 66 to 71 near the coast, 72 inland, 72 to 76 in the western valleys, 75 to 80 near the foothills, 75 to 85 in the mountains and 97 to 102 in the deserts.
The “June gloom” marine layer will persist along the coast, bringing night and morning low clouds to coastal areas. Those clouds may drift into the valleys at times, particularly during the first half of the week.
A gradual warming trend is set to begin Friday, continuing through early next week with moderate heat risk developing in the deserts, the NWS said.
