A victim remained in a hospital Thursday from stab wounds he suffered during a fight at a South Bay strip mall.
He had just left a gym at the commercial center in the 1100 block of Broadway in Chula Vista when he got into a confrontation for an unknown reason with an 18-year-old man shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to Chula Vista police.
During the encounter, the teenager stabbed the victim, Lt. Frank Giaime said. Paramedics took him to UCSD Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
Officers arrested the alleged assailant a short time later, the lieutenant said. The suspect’s name has not been released.
