Escobar was removed from the villa during the season's second episode after podcast clips of her using racial slurs resurfaced online.
Her exit was addressed briefly on the show. Around the 18-minute mark of the episode that aired Wednesday, June 4, series narrator Ian Stirling announced, “Yulissa has left the villa.”
Escobar has faced intense online backlash since joining the show. In podcast clips obtained by TMZ, she is heard using the n-word three separate times while discussing ex-boyfriends.
“America this is your chance to finally getting the voting right,” wrote one fan under her cast announcement on the show's Instagram account. Another added, “Get her out of my villa.”
Escobar has yet to respond to the backlash.
Starting June 9, the show's streaming schedule will be Thursdays to Tuesdays, meaning the only day without a new episode will be Wednesdays.
