When is Rusts release date?
The film made its world premiere at Poland’s Camerimage Festival in November 2024, where Souza and Bianca Cline — who took over as cinematographer after Hutchins' death — made an appearance.
Hutchins is also honored in the film's closing credits.
Rust can be seen in theaters starting May 2, and will be available on digital.

What happened on the set of Rust?
In January 2023, it was announced that Baldwin and Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed would both be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. That April, the charges against Baldwin were dropped; however, Gutierrez-Reed was found liable in part for Hutchins' death. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter in March 2024.
