A Fort Bragg man arrested in July for setting a fire behind a Ukiah hotel has pleaded guilty to the crime, the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office reported. According to David Eyster’s office, Nathaniel Scott Chim, 27, of Fort Bragg, admitted setting a Dumpster on fire behind the Fairfield Inn on Airport Park Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. July 14, then “(fleeing) the scene as the fire grew.” According to the DA, “as part of the plea agreement, Chim stipulated to a three-year state prison term, the maximum sentence allowed for the felony charge under current California law.” He will be sentenced on Oct. 13.
