Islamabad: After a lull of one-day registering 58 deaths, Pakistan’s death toll has risen once again to a record high - 118 in the last 24 hours. Earlier on April 11, Pakistan had reported record 114 deaths in a day. The number of COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday in the last 24 hours stood at 4,318. According to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) some 50,520 tests were conducted for conronavirus over the past day that revealed coronavirus positivity rate at 8.5 per cent. The number of active cases in the country also jumped from 75,266 to 76,034 during this period raising concerns of the authorities particularly in Punjab where the positivity rate remained 10 per cent.
