American author Allen Leviled quite the life before becoming a writer. From 1980 to 1990, he worked as an attorney before moving to Scotland, where he received a degree in Scottish fiction. Levi then returned to law for a few years before moving into vocational music in 1996. He was then a travelling musician before publishing a memoir in 2014 and a children's book based on one of his songs.
In 2023, he self-published the book, Theo of Golden. He self-promoted the novel with the help of his niece, before finding literary representation which resulted in a deal with Simon and Schuster.
